New Meditation Practices: Mindfulness, Renewal & You

bannerriseintegrative

As the new year unfolds (and winter comes to an end finally!), many of us set intentions for health, growth, and balance. We focus on movement, nutrition, and productivity, but often, we forget to care for the mind.

MEDITATION EXPERIENCES

Meditation offers a powerful way to reset, recharge, and move through life with greater clarity.  More than just the exercise of sitting still; it is a practice of cultivating awareness, reducing stress, and creating a deeper sense of presence. Research has shown that meditation can help lower anxiety, improve focus, enhance emotional resilience, and even support better sleep. At Rise Integrative Therapy and Pilates, we believe in the connection between movement and mindfulness, and this season, we invite you to explore that connection through two special meditation experiences: the Spring Meditation Workshop and the Spring Equinox iRest Yoga Nidra Class. These two offerings provide a space for you to slow down, realign, and embrace the energy of the new season.

EXPLORE AND PLAN

As we transition from winter’s stillness to spring’s awakening, meditation becomes a powerful tool for embracing change with intention. The Spring Meditation Workshop is designed to guide you through simple yet effective techniques to build a sustainable meditation habit. You’ll explore breathwork, mindfulness tools, and guided practices that help bring a sense of calm into your daily life (something we all could use a little more of!)

Alongside the workshop, we are offering a special Spring Equinox iRest Yoga Nidra Class, honoring this powerful seasonal shift. The Spring Equinox represents balance—a moment of equal light and dark, an invitation to pause, reflect, and set new intentions. iRest Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative, guided meditation practice that allows you to experience relaxation while remaining conscious and aware. Through this practice, you’ll enter a state of deep rest, quieting the mind, and creating space for renewal. It is an incredible way to honor the transition into spring.

INVEST IN YOURSELF

Now is the perfect time to invest in your meditation practice and embrace the shifts that come with spring.

Whether you join us for the Spring Meditation Workshop, the Spring Equinox iRest Yoga Nidra Class, or BOTH, you’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with yourself in a meaningful way.

These offerings are designed to help you step into the new season with presence and intention. Spots are limited, so we encourage you to reserve your spot today. We look forward to welcoming you into this space of awakening and renewal at Rise!

Pilates program for breast cancer recovery
By Emily Lail May 21, 2025
This week we are announcing a new program at Rise Integrative Therapy & Pilates , and we are featuring a very special post by Karyn Worth, a Level 3 instructor who is also Pink Ribbon Certified. "Throughout my career as a Pilates instructor and dancer, I’ve seen how movement can offer comfort, strength, and a sense of grounding during life’s most difficult moments. To me, it’s not just about regaining physical strength — it’s about reclaiming control, reconnecting with a sense of wholeness, and even rediscovering joy. Pilates , with its gentle, intentional movements, helps rebuild more than physical strength. It nurtures confidence, courage, and self-compassion, offering a safe space to heal both body and spirit. It’s a practice founded on resilience and empowerment — qualities that breast cancer patients embody with extraordinary grace every day. My passion for teaching Pilates to this community comes from knowing it’s far more than exercise; it’s a pathway to hope, healing, and renewed strength, inside and out. Rise Integrative Therapy and Pilates itself is a pathway to renewed strength, healing and hope. Katie and the Rise staff have thoughtfully created a space in which the goal is to not only heal and strengthen the body, but the entire being. Clients feel this as soon as they join us, and in turn, they bring a sense of support, camaraderie and joy to every class and private session. I am so happy that I can bring both the Rise and the breast cancer communities together, and to provide a safe haven for healing the body, mind and soul." WHAT IS THE PINK RIBBON PROGRAM The Pink Ribbon Rise Through Recovery program at Rise Integrative is based on The Pink Ribbon Program for Pilates, which is designed specifically for breast cancer patients and survivors, aiming to support physical recovery, improve mobility, rebuild strength, and nurture emotional well-being. It takes into account post-surgical limitations, lymphedema risk, fatigue, as well as the emotional toll of cancer treatment. The focus is on gentle, mindful movement with modifications to suit each individual's needs and stage of recovery. This program offers a nurturing, supportive environment where participants can connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering a sense of community and belonging. BENEFITS There are many benefits provided by The Pink Ribbon Program. Physically this practice increases shoulder, chest, and upper body strength & mobility, and improves core strength; it supports lymphatic flow and reduces the risk of lymphedema; and it will also reduce fatigue and promote better sleep quality. Emotionally, this Pilates practice reduces anxiety and depression, boosts self esteem & body image, and restores a sense of control by providing an opportunity to feel proactive and empowered in the healing journey. Finally, the Pink Ribbon Program reduces feelings of isolation and loneliness by providing peer support and understanding in an open, judgment-free environment. We hope you will join us on Saturday, June 7th from 12pm-2pm for a special Pink Ribbon: Rise Through Recovery kick-off party! We will begin with a 30 minute meet and greet General overview of the program Then participate in a 50 minute mat-based Pink Ribbon class(this is optional and can be view only) Followed by a 30 minute Q & A, socializing and snacking! We are so excited to be launching the Rise Through Recovery Program, and to provide to the community with a safe, nurturing and hopeful environment in which to heal and recover. All of us at Rise look forward to seeing you there!
